Moses Shetler, founder of EverTrust Construction LLC, grew up in a small Amish community near Heuvelton, NY, where he was immersed in his family’s farm and construction business from a young age. He found joy in building things, and at 16, he constructed his first two-story stick-frame shop/garage, a project that sparked his passion for construction.
At the age of 18, Moses made the bold decision to leave the Amish lifestyle, starting out with only $50 and the clothes on his back. Despite challenges, he found support from friends who helped him secure work in Ohio. During that time, he refined his skills in post-frame construction, an experience that would shape his future in the barn construction industry.
Moses moved to North Carolina, where he met his wife, Crystal. In 2014, they founded EverTrust Construction LLC, a labor of love built on dedication, craftsmanship, and a commitment to serving clients with quality, honesty, and integrity.
EverTrust specializes in custom post-frame and stick-frame buildings, including barndominiums, pole barns, horse barns, storage barns, and outbuildings. The company also takes pride in its expert metal roofing installations, ensuring long-lasting protection and durability.

Preparing Land to Develop On Your Own
Building on your own land is an exciting milestone but knowing where to start can be overwhelming!
Follow these steps to prepare for construction:
- First, mark your corners: You don’t need the exact dimensions yet, but a rough idea of where the structure will sit is key.
- Get a septic permit: This is crucial! Your house location might depend on where the land “perks.”
Secure your permits: Don’t forget building, driveway, and any other local requirements. - Create access: A solid driveway and a designated staging area for materials are must-haves for our delivery trucks and crews.
- Prep the pad: Before concrete can be poured, your building pad needs to be level and prepped with 4 inches of rock (like #57s).
